The world is alight with commentary and viewing of the latest release of Wonder Woman. I don't want to delve deeply into that conversation, as there is so much being written and discussed already, except to add the recurring thought I had during my viewing of the new film:
The character of Wonder Woman is what happens when you don't have the patriarchy breathing down your neck telling you what you can and can't do; what you should or shouldn't do. You never learn the lie that you owe your power to someone else, or have to sacrifice your power to someone else.
